Who is Gymify for?

Gymification is for everyone who sees fitness as an attitude rather than a regimented item that needs to be accommodated in an already busy schedule.

What exactly do you mean by gymification?

It means to get creative and use your environment as your gym, anytime and anywhere.

Do I need a gym membership to be fit?

Absolutely not. Whether you want to train at a gym is completely up to you. (to do: elaborate)

Do I need equipment to be fit?

Absolutely not. There's plenty of physical activity to get and stay fit that doesn't require any equipment. You can get very creative with all kinds of things in your environment. If you have a bit of money to spare, a door frame pull-up bar and a rope to skip are great investments.

Do I need discipline to be fit?

training should be fun, one is better than none kids who grew up pre-touchscreen-phones, were fit just because they spent most of their time outdoors, building forts, playing football, basketball, etc, they swam, skated, etc

Do I need a routine to be fit?

Having a routine can be very helpful to a lot of people. It is not a requirement though. The short version of how muscle growth works is that you exercise and your body adapts to it by growing the relevant muscles. If you routinely do the exact same exercises without variation and/or increase of weight/resistance, intensity, etc, your body will be so adapted to those exercises that you'll plateau. So if you squeeze in some random exercises whenever you have a moment, you can actually benefit, because your body won't adapt to a specific routine, which translates to better muscle growth. As the old adage goes "to keep your muscles growing, you need to keep your muscles guessing".

Do I need to track the exact details of exercises I do?

That's completely up to you. Some people find that it helps them. Others find that it creates oppressive expectations. Either way, the best way to track your progress is by how you look in the mirror, and the way you feel about yourself.

Do I need to be on a special diet to be fit?

restrictive diets are no way to live, it's all about balance

Can I drink alcohol?

I'm not in the best shape and feel shy about going to a gym, what should I do?

Start with some bodyweight exercises at home. You can do them without even having to leave your bedroom.

Does Gymify provide exercises for beginners?

Absolutely. Everyone starts with a fitness test and based on your current fitness level, Gymify recommends simple exercises you can do anywhere and anytime, with the aim to get you to the next level.

Does Gymify provide fitness tips?

We don't intent to reinvent the wheel. There are plenty of free resources for exercises on the internet. Gymify encourages you to train by suggesting exercises based on your current fitness level and it encourages you to playfully compete with others. If you know someone who's physique you like, you can check if they're on Gymify and see what exercises they do when and how often.

Does Gymify provide home workouts?

Yes.

Does Gymify provide HIIT workouts?

Yes, you can chain Gymify's exercise suggestions, missions and compete with other people's activity to get an awesome HIIT workout. Soon, you'll even collect bonus points and badges for those combos.

Does Gymify provide gym exercises?

Our focus is on making exercise available to anyone without a requirement for time and/or money. So we don't currently provide gym exercises. Users are completely free though to share gym exercises. We believe in a non-prescriptive approach. Whether you go to a gym or do calisthenics wherever you are, is completely up to you. Whatever physical activity works for you is good. Our only competition is a sedentary lifestyle.

Will Gymify help me lose weight?

That's completely up to you. If you live an active life and balance your diet, meaning mostly nutritious food and every now and again something delicious that may not necessarily be nutritious, then the answer is yes.

Is Gymify effective for strength training?

Absolutely. Gymification democratizes fitness through turning your environment into your gym, anywhere and anytime. Professional boxers, martial artists and special forces prefer bodyweight exercises such as push-ups and pull-ups for the development of functional strength. If you prefer to lift weights and/or use machines, feel free to share those exercises with other everyday athletes in your circle.

Does Gymify offer cardio exercises?

At this point, we don't specifically offer cardio exercises, except for running. A fantastic cardio exercise that is also excellent for hand-eye-coordination is skipping rope. Apart from that, feel free to share your go-to cardio exercises.

Does Gymify include yoga?

While we don't currently offer any specific yoga exercises, some bodyweight exercises, such as e.g. the Hindu push-up is inspired by yoga. We would be happy to see you share your yoga exercises.

Does Gymify offer pilates workouts?

We don't currently offer any pilates workouts, but we would be happy to see you share them and inspire others.

Does gymification help with muscle building?

Absolutely. The world's toughest sport probably is gymnastics. If you can handle your own bodyweight well, you gain muscle in the process.

Does gymification help to get abs fast?

That entirely depends on your current physique and fitness level. Either way, an active lifestyle and a balanced diet definitely help.

Does gymification help me lose belly fat?

That depends on you. If you live fitness as an attitude, meaning an active lifestyle and a balanced diet, you're likely to get excellent results. We've seen people who transformed themselves in a matter of months with nothing but some minor lifestyle adjustments.

Does Gymify offer any fat burning workouts?

Fat burns fastest through high intensity exercises, such as e.g. up-downs, skipping rope, as well as combos of different exercises with little or no breaks, and a balanced diet. So it's up to you, how determined you are.

Does Gymify offer any dumbbell exercises?

While we currently don't offer any dumbbell exercises, because we aim to democratize fitness by elimination of time and money requirements, you're welcome to share your dumbbell exercises with other everyday athletes in your circle.

Does Gymify offer any resistance band workouts?

We currently don't offer any resistance band workouts, but do feel free to share your resistance band workouts with other everyday athletes in your circle.

Does Gymify offer any treadmill workouts?

We currently don't offer any treadmill workouts. Feel free to share them with your crowd if that's what floats your boat.

Does Gymify offer any kettlebell exercises?

We currently don't offer any kettlebell exercises, feel free to share them with your crowd though, if you have any interesting ones.

Does Gymify offer any leg workouts, arm exercises, chest workouts, core exercises and glute workouts?

Absolutely, we offer a large variety of all of the above.

Does Gymify offer the best home workouts for weight loss?

That's completely up to you. We offer the most effective way to train that gets you the best results with a minimal investment in terms of time and money. The results you get, are however, mostly dependent on the effort and dedication you put in.

Does Gymify offer a 30-day fitness challenge?

The idea of gymification is to challenge yourself and others for life. We don't see that as an oppressive and dreadful have-to. We see physical activity as playful fun. While we don't specifically offer a 30-day fitness challenge, we encourage you to challenge your family, friends, colleagues and enemies, and to join in on their challenges.

Does Gymify offer a workout plan for beginners?

Yes, Gymify is intended for everyone, from beginner to professional athlete. We believe that fitness is one of the most fundamental things to a happy life and our attitude towards it is fully inclusive. So if you are a beginner, we show you where to start and how to get to the next level.

Does Gymify explain how to build muscle at home?

Yes, and it's very simple. Just start with a fitness test and follow Gymify's suggestions to the best of your ability. Please prioritize your safety and be careful when you attempt an exercise you haven't done before. It's better to start slow and build yourself through consistency rather than to overdo it to the point where you feel sore, or worse where you're injured, and won't be able to exercise again for days or weeks. Consistent small steps add up before you know it.

Does Gymify offer quick workouts for busy people?

YES! That's our specialty. Our lives are more than busy enough. We know from experience that effective workouts can be done in minutes rather than hours.
